Duet for Two Dancers indaga l’ansia di non vivere all’altezza delle proprie aspettative o di quelle che la propria professione o la società in generale ci impone. Uno sguardo sulla paura di perdere se stessi e su ciò che resta quando le abilità svaniscono. La libertà di scegliere differenti professioni e identità è sempre una ragione d’insicurezza e dubbio. Il sovraccarico di scelte crea una sorta di stagnazione. L’inabilità di scegliere forza il corpo ad immobilizzarsi. Duet for Two Dancers si interroga sull’''essere un danzatore'' così come sul ''non essere un danzatore''.

Tabea Martin, coreografa attiva in Olanda e Svizzera, è stata invitata a Theatertreffen Berlin, Impact, Dialogues of Springdance, Nottdance Festival e per il Choreoroam Project con Jonathan Burrows e Yasmeen Godder. Ha ricevuto una nomination nel 2010 per il ZKB Förderpreis per la piece sofort geniessen. Il suo lavoro è inoltre sostenuto da Dansateliers Rotterdam e Het LAB Utrechet. Nel 2011 vince in Olanda, dal Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds, il Wim Barry Stipendia Prize per promettenti talenti teatrali, e il Aerowaves Studio Award per il lavoro Duet for two dancers.

‘Duet for Two Dancers’ takes a look at the anxiety of not living up to your own expectations, or those which your profession or society in general impose on you. A look at the fear of losing yourself. And at what remains when all skills disappear. The freedom to choose different professions and identities is often a reason for insecurity and doubt. The overload of choices creates a kind of stagnation. The inability to choose forces the body to rest. In that way ‘Duet for Two Dancers’ poses questions about ‘being a dancer’ as well as ‘not being a dancer’.

Tabea Martin, active choreographer in Holland and Switzerland, has been invited to Theatertreffen Berlin, Impact, Dialogues of Springdance, Nottdance Festival and to the Choreoroam Project with Jonathan Burrows and Yasmeen Godder. She received a nomination in 2010 for the ZKB Förderpreis for the pièce Sofort geniessen. Her job is sustained by Dansateliers Rotterdam and Het LAB Utrechet. In 2011 she is awarded in Holland, from the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds, the Wim Barry Stipendia Prize for up-and-coming theater talents and the Aerowaves Study Award for the work Duet for two dancers.
